Gold DofE Award practice expedition

The 3-day practice expedition for the Gold DofE Award will take place across the Greater Langdale and Coniston area of The Lake District, Friday 17th to Sunday 19th September.

A copy of the information regarding suggested and compulsory kit will be issued separately, however immediate guidance can be read on the DofE website which also includes information on food requirements.

Students will be required to attend the following training sessions to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable expedition:

  • Thursday 9th September, 2pm: Expedition overview and kit list
  • Monday 13th September, 4pm: Basic life support & first aid
  • Tuesday 14th September, 4pm: Practical campcraft
  • Thursday 16th September, 1.20pm: Basic navigation & map skills
