Chris Haighton – Chair of Governors

Chris sits on the Education Committee.

Academic qualifications – BSc in Mathematics

Chris is Head of Logistics for a major retailer. He has a background in Supply Chain and Project Management.

Chris has three children one of whom is at Bridgewater in the Sixth Form.

 


 

Ian Bamford

Ian is a freelance musician, teacher and songwriter/producer.

Formally a manager with Bolton Music Service, Ian trained as a Music Facilitator and has twenty years teaching experience.

As a musician, Ian writes and records music for the education and commercial sectors, plays in several contemporary bands and has a diploma in Music Creation and Production.

Ian is a former pupil of the school and lives in Worsley with his wife Vivien.

 


 

Martin Moss

Martin chairs the Finance Committee.

Academic qualfications – BSC (Hons) Computer Science and Physics Manchester Polytechnic
MSc UMIST – Instrumentation and Analytical Science
PhD University of Liverpool – Optical Physics and Microbiology

Martin is an IT Manager for a home shopping retailer with 20 years’ experience in the IT Industry. Prior to that he worked in science research.

Martin is a current Bridgewater parent with a daughter in Sixth Form.

 


 

Jane Jones

Jane sits on the Education and Pupil Welfare Committee.

Academic qualifications – BA (Hons) Manchester College of Art

Professional qualifications – Advanced Design Fellowship

Jane is a semi-retired art teacher. She now runs workshops in schools, teaches at Chethams and produces her own art work.

Jane is an ex member of staff at Bridgewater.

 


 

Kathryn Mort

Kathryn sits on the Education and Child Welfare Committee and is the Governor responsible for Child Protection.

Academic qualifications – BA (Hons)
Professional    NNEB
MA in Education

Kathryn is a Deputy Head teacher at a state primary school with over ten years’ experience in EYFS and Key Stages 1 and 2.

Kathryn has a son and is a former Bridgewater pupil.

 


 

Kirstie Simpson

Kirstie sits on the Education and Pupil Welfare Committee

Academic qualifications – BSc Sport Science
MA Leisure & Tourism Management
Doctorate of Education (D.Ed.)

Kirstie is Head of Department, Sport & Community Engagement at the University of Chester.

Kirstie has two children but is not a Bridgewater Parent.

 


 

Nicholas Beesley

Nicholas is a Parent Governor. He chairs the Compliance and Governance Committee and sits on the Business Development Committee.

Academic qualifications – MA (Oxon) Physics

Nicholas is a retired Head Teacher.

Nicholas has two children, both in the Senior School at Bridgewater.

 


 

Amanda Dagg

Amanda is a Parent Governor.

She sits on the Development and Finance Committees.

Academic qualifiations – BSc (Hons) in Information Technology.

Professional qualifications – Institute of Direct Marketing Diploma.

Amanda is the owner of a marketing communications consultancy, a director of a business that takes the individual through the financial process of high net worth divorce and is a business consultant and mentor in a variety of sectors.

Amanda has one son in the Senior School at Bridgewater.

 


 

Chris Ryan 

Chris is currently a senior manager in the private healthcare sector having previously held head of and director roles in the financial sector.

Sales, Marketing, Finance, Distribution and general management are his main areas of expertise.

Professional qualifications – In addition he holds the CII financial planning certificate as well as G60 advanced Pensions. Chris is also qualified in advanced executive coaching and EQI (emotional intelligence)

Chris is has 2 children, and is a former Bridgewater Parent.
