Prep V trip to Quarry Bank Mill

To support Prep V’s topic work on the Victorians and help bring history to life, on Wednesday 2nd October pupils will be visiting Quarry Bank Mill. On arrival they will step back in time and meet the superintendent of the Apprentice House to find out what life was like for the children who were apprentices at Samuel Gregg’s cotton mill. In the afternoon the children will tour the mill to learn about the lives of the mill workers, trying some of the jobs done by the apprentices and finding out about working conditions.

We will be leaving school at 9am and return at approximately 3.15pm. A packed lunch will be provided.

Children need to be wearing full school uniform and school coats must be worn. A small amount of spending money may be brought for the gift shop.
