Prep VI WWII Workshop

As part of Prep VI’s History study of wartime Britain, we have been fortunate enough to arrange a full day workshop session with Del Bannister, an experienced history specialist and provider with whom we have worked extensively in the past through the Stockport Air Raid Shelters and Museum programmes, as well as delivering sessions on other areas of History across the Prep Department in previous years.

The workshop will take place in Wednesday 19th April, when children will examine artefacts and learn about how people’s daily lives were affected by the war through rationing, propaganda and such concepts as ‘Make Do and Mend’ and ‘Digging for Victory’. Not only will this give the children an insight into life during the war, it will also close support our study of Michelle Magorian’s classic book ‘Goodnight, Mister Tom’ chosen to run in parallel with our wartime History topic.
