Coffee Morning raises vital funds for Macmillan
Tea, cake and plenty of good company helped us to raise an impressive £1,132 for Macmillan Cancer Support, as families came together for our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning.
This year’s event was, as always, organised and run by our Sixth Form, who welcomed parents and members of our school community to the Prep Hall for a busy morning of refreshments and fundraising.
Tables were filled with a wonderful selection of cakes and biscuits, generously donated by Bridgewater families, while guests enjoyed the opportunity to catch up over a cup of tea or coffee and support an important cause.
The event following an especially busy period of charitable activity at Bridgewater, coming just a week after the school welcomed Sir Kevin Sinfield and his 7 in 7 team as part of their fundraising and awareness challenge for the MND community. Once again, the generosity of our families was very much in evidence, with the Coffee Morning raising a fantastic £1,132.
As well as supporting Macmillan, the morning provided our Sixth Formers with another opportunity to play an active role in school life, working together to organise and host an event for the wider Bridgewater community.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who donated cakes and biscuits, contributed to the fundraising or simply joined us for coffee and company. Your support made the morning a great success and will help Macmillan continue its vital work supporting people living with cancer and their families.
