Prep School – Pastoral

Our main priority is the welfare of our children. We are committed to providing a quality education in a safe and caring learning environment where individuals count. This is maintained through our friendly and supportive partnership with parents. All members of our school community play a very important role in the children’s lives at Bridgewater.

The strong, supportive family ethos within the school ensures that we are aware of pupils’ pastoral needs and thereby provide guidance and support for each and every one of them. We understand children learn significantly more in a happy, supportive and well-balanced environment where we help to build their confidence and self-discipline.

Our child-centred approach nurtures each child’s individual abilities. We encourage children to think independently, use their initiative and to actively participate in the learning process. We place strong emphasis on achievement and celebration of success in all areas of school life. Children’s achievements are celebrated daily and focused upon in assemblies. Working together is extremely important.

Children make thousands of decisions and choices every day. The key to a successful education is to always encourage children to ‘do the right thing’, to always learn from their mistakes and be proud when they succeed.

Outstanding care, support and guidance builds pupils' confidence, self-esteem and awareness of others.
