Matthew Woodford

Matthew Woodford, Class of 2019.

Currently completing a Degree Apprenticeship in Engineering with JCB. Matthew joined Bridgewater as a Senior School student in 2012 and left in the summer of 2019 with three A-levels in Geography (B), History (B) and Mathematics (B).

“For someone who from very early on knew they wanted to complete a Degree Apprenticeship, Bridgewater, with their smaller class sizes and increased one-to-one tuition that you perhaps don’t get at other colleges, was the ideal arrangement for me.

With some of the larger colleges there seems to be a drive and a focus on getting as many students to go to university as possible. That is not the case at Bridgewater, where the teaching staff are very supportive of whatever direction you wish to take for your future.

The weekly enrichment sessions were hugely beneficial during my time in Sixth Form, allowing the students to gain an understanding of all the possible options that are available to them upon leaving Sixth Form, whether that be doing a Degree Apprenticeship, going to university, or entering the workplace, Bridgewater enables students to develop a clear direction for their own future.”

Whether it be a Degree Apprenticeship, university, or entering the workplace, Bridgewater enables students to develop a clear direction for their own future.
