Anees Ahmed

Anees Ahmed, Class of 2020.

Currently studying Medicine at the University of Sheffield, Anees joined Bridgewater in 2015 where, in Sixth Form, he was a member of the BWS Science Society and Medics Society, and Head of the Student Council. He left in the summer of 2020 with three A-levels in History (A*), Biology (A) and Chemistry (A).

“My name is Anees Ahmed and I am a first year medical student at the University of Sheffield. Bridgewater Sixth Form enabled me to get the grades I needed to get into university but, more importantly, helped me to develop my communication skills and confidence. This was so important in enabling me to do well in interviews and settle into university really easily.

The small class sizes at Bridgewater meant I was able to develop close relationships with my teachers and classmates, which was hugely important as it allowed me to ask questions and get the help I needed with all of my subjects. The teachers care about every student and helped me with every aspect of my personal and academic development. I definitely would not be doing the course I wanted to do and have the confidence to be involved in university life had I not gone to Bridgewater.”

The teachers care about every student and helped me with every aspect of my personal and academic development.
