Welcome to Early Years

At Bridgewater School we believe that Early Years are vital in laying the foundation for a child’s future. This is a time of rapid brain development and, by understanding each child as an individual, we can nurture their curiosity, creativity and problem-solving skills. Through this approach we are able to embed a positive attitude towards learning and exploration, and build a platform for continuous growth – academically, socially and emotionally.

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is an integral part of the Prep Department; many of our most successful students began their academic journey here, developing an early sense of self in a safe, friendly place that gives them the space to express themselves for the very first time.

Outstanding in every way, every day.

The EYFS encompasses those children aged 3 to 5 years in Kindergarten and Reception Classes. We are a one form intake, ensuring consistently high teaching standards and a happy continuity as pupils progress through to our Prep School.

Your child will be able to form early friendships and find out about the world of learning in a structured and continuous learning environment where our staff to pupil ratio is always excellent.

A professional approach to play and learning.

Fully qualified teachers lead the way in our highly successful Kindergarten and Reception classes where children can enjoy an expertly structured environment both within the classroom and beyond. Our Head of Early Years is a qualified Early Years and Primary Teacher and Early Years Professional who oversees the smooth transition from home to school and then on to Key Stage 1.

Under her caring and expert tutelage, our highly successful Kindergarten and Reception Classes are not only a happy place for our very youngest pupils, but welcoming for families too.

Call 0161 794 1463 or email admin@bwslive.co.uk today to arrange a Taster Session for you and your child, and discover an altogether more successful approach to early learning.

I am constantly amazed by what they have learnt at such an early age. The quality of teaching and learning is superb.
