Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award Expedition will take place Thursday 18th – Saturday 20th September 2025.

The expedition will be held in the picturesque Peak District, encompassing the Tissington Trail and the High Peak Trail. It will involve two days of cycling and one day of walking, providing our students with a unique and challenging experience.

An upcoming cycling training session, focusing on cycling with a load, is scheduled for Friday 12th September 2025. On this day, students will need to bring their bike and panniers / trailer to school in preparation for the training session. We will be practising along the Worsley Loop Line, aiming to enhance their skills and confidence in cycling with added weight ahead of the Silver DofE expedition.

Students have been briefed on the kit requirements for the expedition, however to confirm – students do not need to bring their own tents, cooking stoves or gas. These items will be provided. We have a limited selection of 60L rucksacks and sleeping mats which we would be able to lend to students if their do not have their own for the expedition.
