Harry Dennis

Harry Dennis, Class of 2013.

Graduated with an MA in French Studies from Edinburgh University where he was the Secretary for the Spanish Society. A former Head Boy of Bridgewater School and modern languages mentor, Harry has since completed a Master’s in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Sheffield, worked as a technical translator in French and Spanish, and is currently studying for a PGCE before embarking on a teaching career in Modern Languages.

“I grew up at Bridgewater School. I can’t deny that my experiences within its Sixth Form equipped me with every opportunity to succeed, both in my A-levels and beyond.

The small (in fact, tiny) class sizes meant that there was nowhere to hide and high standards were set out from day one. No doubt this was certainly hard work at times, but it was surely worth it as ultimately it allowed for constant, tailored interaction with teachers, which was immeasurably valuable and enlightening.

What I am most grateful for however, was the support given when applying to university. The guidance given throughout this daunting process was second to none, and the Head of Sixth’s relentless determination to ensure that personal statements reached their absolute potential allowed us all to think big, and to infinitely illuminate our horizons.”

It allowed us all to think big and to infinitely illuminate our horizons.
