Y7 and 8 Robotics STEM club

We are delighted to offer a Robotics STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) club for Year 7 and 8 students, beginning on Thursday 9th June (running for 5 weeks).

As part of the sessions, students will build and test a walking robot using written instructions and following step-by-step video instructions. During the sessions they will improve key skills such as independent thinking, problem-solving and analysis.

As part of the STEM Club the students will:

  • learn more about robots and what they do
  • design their own robot
  • build a model robot
  • test their robot
  • make modifications to improve their robot’s performance
  • make measurements and perform calculations
  • design other robots, either following prepared plans or creating their own, using the parts provided.
