Prep V visit to Quarry Bank Mill

On Tuesday 4th October Prep V will be visiting Quarry Bank Mill.

On arrival, they will step back in time and meet the superintendent of the Apprentice House to find out what life was like for the children who were apprentices at Samuel Gregg’s cotton mill. In the afternoon, the children will tour the mill to learn about the lives of mill workers, trying some of the jobs done by the apprentices and finding out about working conditions.

We will be leaving school at 9.00am and return at approximately 3.15pm. The children will need to be in school uniform and school coats must be worn. A packed lunch will be provided. There is a small gift shop, and your child may wish to bring spending money.
