Overview

The senior PE department consists of 4 committed members of staff who value the importance of delivering outstanding lessons which will allow all students to achieve their potential. Students will have access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

Our facilities include a Sports Hall incorporating four badminton courts, volleyball, basketball, netball, tennis, five –a-side, indoor cricket net. We also have an outdoor 3G football pitch and a playing field. Our location enables us to utilise Worsley woods and we have links with Salford Watersports centre, Fit City Worsley, Marshall Fencing, Salford Red Devils RLFC and the Chill Factor.

KS3

At KS3 students will study a variety of activities including Netball, Hockey, Football, Rugby, Basketball, Gymnastics, Orienteering and Problem Solving, Fitness, Rounders, Athletics, Tennis and Cricket, Trampolining.

KS4

A structured programme of physical activities provides a variety of opportunities and experiences for them to develop physically, mentally and socially In Key Stage 4, all students will continue to participate in Core Physical Education lessons of 2 hours per week. Activities offered include: Athletics, Cricket, Rounders, Softball, Hockey, Rugby, Netball, Basketball, Volleyball, Aerobics, Badminton, Trampolining, and Skiing. Many activities within the programme have been covered to a good basic standard in the previous three years, but it is expected that all pupils endeavour to raise their level of performance in all activities. The emphasis changes somewhat from basic skills to tactical play.

In addition to Core PE lessons, students will have the opportunity to study GCSE PE.
