Beyond the classroom

At Bridgewater School, we understand that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our Early Years children flourish socially, physically and emotionally through a rich variety of inclusive experiences designed to feed their imagination and inspire young minds.

Exploring the world around them is an essential part of every child’s learning development, and we are fortunate to be surrounded by outstanding facilities that enhance learning in exciting and meaningful ways. Our specially designed Bridgewater Forest School provides opportunities for children to connect with nature, develop resilience and build confidence in a safe and stimulating environment. Additionally, our close proximity to Worsley Woods allows children to enjoy its natural play area, encouraging creativity and a love for the outdoors.

Exploring. Learning. Thriving.

At Bridgewater School we nurture a spirit of adventure and discovery, ensuring that every child’s learning journey is as exciting as it is educational. Beyond our immediate surroundings, we take learning further with a range of carefully planned trips throughout the year. These enriching experiences reinforce classroom learning and ignite curiosity. Visits to farms allow children to observe life cycles firsthand, compare the needs of young animals to adults, and understand where the food they may eat comes from. Older students and members of the community enjoy sharing their personal experiences of culture, nationality, or special festivals, bringing these traditions to life for the children. Additionally, trips to national retailers provide real-world learning experiences.

To further enhance the children’s cultural development, we organise an annual Christmas theatre visit, as well as opportunities to watch performances from older students in both Prep and the Senior School. Our termly whole-school assemblies bring together students from Kindergarten through to Year 13, fostering a real sense of community and inspiring one another through shared experiences.

The freedom to be yourself is the greatest freedom of all
