Y9 Haworth visit
A trip has been organised to visit Haworth, home of the Bronte sisters, on Wednesday 5th March 2025.
This term we are following a scheme of work on the topic of ‘Monsters’, which includes exploring 19th-century gothic writers such as Bram Stoker and Mary Shelley. The Haworth visit has been arranged in preparation for some gothic creative writing that the students will complete next half term, using Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights and Yorkshire Moors as their inspiration.
We will be leaving straight from morning registration and, upon arrival at Haworth, students will visit the Bronte Parsonage and take a moorland walk to Top Withens, which is believed to have been Emily Bronte’s inspiration for Wuthering Heights. Students will also have an opportunity to explore the village of Haworth before returning to school before the end of the day. Students will therefore be able to make their usual travel arrangements home from school.
